ESCAPE FROM FRAMES

You can usually get an approximate dating on a Tuco puzzle by comparing your puzzle box with the pictures on the "TUCO Box Styles" pages. Additional clues for dating puzzles may be included in the text. We find Tuco box styles and dates after the 1940's particularly challenging. All these data are subject to further research, discussion, and correction. There's at least two or three people researching these, and opinions may differ as to exact dates.

These boxes have a vertical yellow strip on the left edge of the face of the box, where the brand and title are found. All have 250+ pieces.

In general, interlocking pieces only appeared circa early 1950's.
A knowledgeable collector sent in these findings:

Miniature Childrens' puzzles appear with 30 pieces
Miniature puzzles appear with 88
