Whitman Publishing Co. was established in 1916 (as a subsidiary of Western Publishing Co.) and began producing jigsaw puzzles in 1923. Among the lines produced by Whitman and Western have been: Adult Jig, Bonus, Blue Ribbon, Corker, Crown, Currier and Ives, Fighters for Freedom, Five Star, Guild, Gold Seal, Golden, Jig Picture, Masterpiece, Tekwood, and 20th Century.
